The 10th Annual Phuket Gay Pride Festival, takes place over 4 nights starting on Wednesday 23rd February to Saturday 26th February 2011.

There are a host of events, parties, street performances, firework displays and parades going on throughout the festival. This spectacular festival is open for everyone to come and enjoy.


Wednesday 23rd February 2011 (9pm onwards)

Event -> The celebrations kick off with a pre-party, “The White Party”.
Dress -> The Dress code for this event is white.
Event -> 9pm: There will be a street party show with street performances



Thursday 24th February 2011 (Day & Evening Events)

Event ->
11.00am – 3pm: Gay Phuket Volleyball Tournament
Event -> 8.00pm – 11pm: Opening party for Phuket Gay Pride
Dress  -> Colourful rainbow colours
Event -> 9pm: Street Party Show with fireworks and street performances



Friday 25th February 2011 (Day & Evening Events)

The Wat Chalong Fair, is a key event in Phuket’s event calandar. It is considered to be one of the biggest festivals attracting people from all over Thailand.

The festival and fair takes place this year from Thursday 3rd February – Wednesday 9th February 2011 at the Wat Chalong Buddhist Temple.

Historically, the Wat Chalong Fair, was enjoyed by the hard working local farmers. Once the harvest had been completed, the farmers would create a funfair on the temple’s grounds. The fair was a chance for the farmer’s to celebrate their hard work.

The Wat Chalong Fair, runs at the same time as the Chinese New Year celebrations. The local farmers, organize this so that the Phuket residents of Chinese heritage could be included in the celebrations.

The fair is a mixture of shopping, cuisine and entertainment. At the fair you will find many vendors selling everything you can imagine from electrical items to clothing to souvenirs to locally produced goods.

There will also be vendors from all over Thailand, setting up restaurants in the grounds of the temple. You will be able to enjoy an array of Thai food for a reasonable price.

For the entertainment there will be live concerts, appearances from Thai celebrities, Thai dancing, Muay Thai displays and much more.

Authentic Phuket Tours – Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year, traditionally begins on the first day of the first lunar month. This year the Chinese New Year falls on 3rd February 2011.

Celebrations will be taking place across the many Chinese Temples in Phuket. Running alongside the New Year celebration is the, “Old Phuket Town Festival”.

There are lively celebrations and colourful dragon and lion processions taking place in Phuket Town. The dragon and lion dances are traditionally performed to ward off evil spirits.
